Did you ever put a little bit of coal in their bags and see the kids' reaction?

@Sue: Am glad that u found my post useful. Neither at school nor at home was I ever given cloth bags full of goodies. And it's not because I was naughty. Coming to think of it..I used to attend a church school so it's quite strange that we never celebrated this feast. And at home mum used to buy us all kinds of nuts and fruit and put them in a large bowl on the table and we just helped ourselves after dinner.Sukihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02487950966823492140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440862737324336414.post-70987466747516946462009-11-15T21:03:36.871+01:002009-11-15T21:03:36.871+01:00Zen,it is really nice to find your post on the cel...Zen,it is really nice to find your post on the celebration of the feast in honour of ST. Martin. I was loooking for some information about the Borza ta' san Martin on Internet some days ago but with no result, I remember my mum and grandma would perpare these bags for us when we were just kids and I was wondering if the tradition was still on in Malta... your post answers my query, thank you!
Hugs,
Sue.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05544319811636783606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440862737324336414.post-82784177897419795582009-11-15T07:07:44.975+01:002009-11-15T07:07:44.975+01:00Hi, great post. My two eldest (9 and 5 years old) do put a bag next to their beds and they get the walnuts, etc and a small treat too. My cheeky daughter was leaving the bag every night this week, she told me San Martin might come again since she is ''very good''!!Dinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08915306323006971277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440862737324336414.post-34198737232699033422009-11-14T18:52:17.976+01:002009-11-14T18:52:17.976+01:00Hi Zen I've enjoyed catching up with you posti...Hi Zen I've enjoyed catching up with you postings, always so interesting. Well done on your being a winner on Blogging Women : )
Thanks for your being concerned when I was not posting, as I already replied to your question there, we had to deal with a health problem but thank God we are getting back to 'normal'.
Incidentally I never knew about the part where some would find bags of coal instead of all the goodies, I guess I must've always been good LOL! I too love the Sajf ta' San Martin...we used to have these days in Canada too and there this time is called Indian summer.
Ooops sorry for this being so long, trying to make up for being away so long : )Doreenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09884510950604724356noreply@blogger.com
