A little old arch

Hush! Who's hiding behind the wall...

I took a photo of this little arch tucked away up on a hill in my home town. I came across this old arch while walking along an old disused path that leads down to the little old boathouses in front of St Anne's gardens. Beyond the old arch there was this confusion of entangled vegetation that most probably covered up any signs of a cultivated garden. That jungle of creepers reminded me that life is always about survival of the fittest. The sturdy weeds took over what was once a beautiful garden and are blooming uncontested among the other weak shrubs.

Nice picture!
It is comforting to know that there is still some vegetation left in Malta. I can't help but notice the green areas becoming fewer every time I come to Malta.
Nice to see you're posting again!

I love places like these. we have a few here too but sadly I seldom go visit them. The place where I live is just so full of concrete and choked with cars ...

First of all like Sue said how nice to see you posting again : )
That's a lovely picture Zen! Your posting and photo remind me of the Secret Garden and also of The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (which I read last year), not to be confused with the former both great books in my opinion.
